Oils- About

My first true introduction to essential oils was back in the 1970s. Not knowing what else to do with myself after high school and not ready to attend college, I enrolled in the Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics where I learned skin care and make up. After six months of full time school, licensing by the state and canvassing the city of Boston for a job, I landed a spot giving facials at a posh Newbury Street salon. My very first client was also my last.  Upon touching her skin I could feel the parasite load she carried within and it was too much for me to handle. At the time I had not come to terms with my abilities as a clairvoyant and medium. I walked off the job but took with me a fascination and love for essential oils.

 

But it was in the 1990s, after years of playing with oils on and off in soap and potion making, that I started to study them within the realm of natural healing. Cut basil oil with a carrier and apply to herpes sores.  Peppermint and rosemary diluted and applied to the back of the neck helps defuse a migraine.  I mixed formulations for my hip dysplastic Newfoundland to help his mobility and found combinations to help me work through anxiety attacks in the middle of the night. Oils became part of my every day life.

 

In my psychic medium world of readings and consultations, I found my time meditating in the tub benefited from certain combinations of oils. But as I worked specifically with clients the potions changed. I came to realize that the recipes were energy specific to the clients themselves. I worked with that concept with my day-to-day life, making up oils by my own energy and wearing them. They uplifted me. They made me think more positively and changed the level of my own joy.  Over time I would suggest certain oils to friends that would match the energy their spirits needed. Each essential oil has its own identity – its own soul. I developed a deep love and respect for all of them.

 

I knew I wanted to continue my work with oils and had no idea how that would manifest itself. I had thought of actually making up the formulations for people here at the house, but taking on the sort of inventory I would need and making sure the turn over was high enough to warrant that sort of inventory was out of the question. Then I got a call one night from a friend who was having  a serge of life changing events. As we talked I started to write down names of oils. I did not know I was even doing that. I could see them around her and watched them intertwine to bring her into a level of safety and peace. I rattled off the oils to her and told her how to put them together and how to do a 10% solution that was right for her. I did not think twice about it.

 

A month later a box of chocolates came US mail. Inside was a note. “Thank-you so much for the oils. You changed things for me and made it possible for me to get up each day. You should do oils for everyone Bethanne for where ever they are in their lives.”

 

And there it is.
